“TISPY” measures exhaled alcohol and advises how to drink and when to wake up from the hangover, which is displayed in an app.

It traditionally takes 1.5 years for a development of this kind of IoT device, but Stuff made it happen in 11 months. How? We designed everything in-house, such as PCBs, cabinets, software, and a dedicated app, and our members worked on different design stages simultaneously, utilizing each member’s skill and specialty.

With a speedy market launch, we could uncover more needs that led to the development and launch of TISPY ver. 2 too.

“Kitoki” is a multi-purpose device, measuring perspiration and atmospheric pressure while aiding in relaxation with the release of a calming cypress scent.

Kitoki is developed to help busy business people relax in brief moments. It measures signs of stress by sensing perspiration as well as encourages users to take a deep breath until the LED light tells “your body is relaxed.”

It took only 11 months for Stuff to complete the entire processes from designing to mass production because of our planning ability and experiences with working with many different sensors at once. To provide a deep sense of relaxation, we picked Japanese cypress for the body frame and worked two different sensors (perspiration and atmospheric pressure) at once which, in the end, cut costs and decreased lead times.

The product was a huge success with development costs half of what was expected and sold double the projected quantity of Kitoki.

This is a project by a carve-out startup company from Panasonic. Although Panasonic commissioned this Hot Chocolate Maker for testing, they decided against commercialization due to small market size.

Stuff, however, was certain that Infini Mix could be a great hit with our planning and technologies. We figured that brewing speed was the key to attract users an decided to develop a feature to turn solid chocolate into drink in 30 seconds, which was half the time a regular coffee maker took. We also successfully halved time-to-market to 10 months by developing all mechanism such as a boiler, pump, valves, etc. and even designing microcomputer control system in-house, while strictly observing Panasonic’s quality and safety standards.

HOYA MW10 HiKARI is an eyewear-type wearable device for people with low vision or night blindness. MW10 amplifies a small amount of light from the captured image and projects it on the displays in bright color in real time.

HOYA Corporation, an established optical equipment and glass lens manufacturer, wanted to respond to strong demands from patients after clinical trials and was seeking a way to produce MW10 in small lots and deliver as quickly as possible at a price patients could afford.

STUFF realized these needs for speedy mass production, utilizing quick-delivery molds. Normally, it takes one month for mechanism design and two months for molding, but STUFF completed mechanism design and prototypes within two weeks and molding in only three weeks. In addition, the overall cost was reduced by 20%. With Stuff’s own know-hows and passion, these epoch-making glasses have been successfully launched to the market.
